Unbroken Podcast 019: Hordos Andras

Hordos Andras (Andrew) has listened to this podcast from the beginning. He has been a great help with feedback and advice since I started this thing.  I was excited to have him come on the podcast and talk about some of the things he is involved in.

After he injured his wrist doing a muscle up, Andrew decided to start rowing a 5k everyday, because that was one of the few things he could do without pain. This plan quickly evolved into rowing 2 million meters in a single year. You don’t row that much in a year and not develop a wealth of knowledge.  He didn’t get this knowledge on his own; he reached out to the best in the world and got help and advice.

Over the years, he has progressed into coaching rowing classes, giving rowing seminars and now being a part of Dark Horse rowing.  Andrew finds things he loves and becomes really knowledgeable about them.  He has several CrossFit training certifications under his belt, including rowing.

Unbroken Podcast 018: Charity Dye

I was so excited for the chance to talk to Charity and lucked out that she was going to be up in Springfield. I got to know her through local competitions, and she was always the person to say something nice to everyone. I’ve always been impressed on how hard she works and how dedicated she is in fitness.

Some of her background includes teaching Body Pump classes to trying out CrossFit to going to Regionals 3 times.

We talk about nutrition and even pulled her husband Keith (a bodybuilder) into the conversation to tap into his knowledge.  Charity talks about how much her performance improved once she started following Keith’s diet.  He CrossFits to be with her, and she body builds to be with him.  You can tell they really love each other and complement each other in their own passions. Enjoy the podcast!

Unbroken Podcast 017: Mallory Lawson

I am such a fan of Mallory.  She is an amazing athlete and a fun person. She has always been an athlete.  She started gymnastics at the age of 2 and has not looked back in regards to fitness.

We talk about fitness, playing sports, and starting CrossFit.  It was fun to talk about Regionals and going to the CrossFit Games as a member of the CrossFit 417 team. We discuss eating and nutrition and how that affected her in college and now as a CrossFit athlete.

Unbroken Podcast 016: Jenn Crosby

I had the honor to interview my wife for this podcast. Not only is she a very good athlete in her own respect, but she has to put up with me and all my shenanigans.

We talk about her fitness background.  How she went from a very competitive skater and figure skater to running marathons to coaching CrossFit. We also talk about how hard it was for her living with someone who was depressed and eating all the time.  It was really hard for her to see me at 348 pounds, wasting my life away playing video games and eating all the time.
